Objects of Art: A Collective Choice

HOUSTON (Nov. 10, 2010)-Original art and gift items will be on display and for sale in time for the holiday season at the Community Artists’ Collective, 1413 Holman, in the Midtown Art Center Gallery Tea Room. “Objects of Art: A Collective Choice” opens with a preview party from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12.

Participating artists include Jackie Miller, Christina Baines, Sat Kartar Khalsa, Rev. Adreon Scott, Chisa Sallah, Terri Collins, Tatum Banks, Sandra Booth, Baba Ifalade, Sophie Jobe and Michael Clark. Exquisite baby accessories and clothes, wood carvings, art work, cultural garments, greeting cards with original poetry, natural soy candles, handmade scarves and crochet shoes, body oils and incense and jewelry are among the one-of-a-kind items available.

The exhibit, curated by Jackie Miller, runs through Jan. 9, 2010.
